Malaysian Legal Alert or MLA is a comprehensive weekly electronic alert service on Malaysian legal developments. MLA monitors and gathers information from over 150 local and foreign sources, and reports through e-mail all major legal developments in Malaysia (in summary form) including cases, legislation, guidelines and updates from regulatory bodies, news, events, books, journals, articles, resources, products and services. For selected items, MLA provides access, via hyperlink, to the full text of the original document.
MLA is designed for busy professionals – legal practitioners, corporate counsels, judges and other court officers, law lecturers, directors, senior company officers, legal, risk and compliance officers, accountants, tax practitioners, enforcement officers, paralegals, and law and business students – who deal with Malaysian law on a regular basis. It provides exceptional value for the money and time spent. A typical subscriber needs to spend less than 30 minutes and 8 ringgit a week on MLA to be alerted on all he needs to know on Malaysian legal developments.
MLA, through MLA Manager, an Internet-based search engine, allows subscribers to search MLA archives. The search can be conducted using several parameters including Categories (Cases, Legislation, Regulatory, etc), Practice Areas (Procedure, Financial Services, Real Property, etc), Keywords (both in Contents and Title), and Date.
Upon subscribing to MLA, a subscriber will:
- receive an e-mail to his designated address every Monday afternoon, latest by 5pm Malaysian time, from the publishers with MLA attached as a PDF document; and
- be allowed access to MLA Manager, an online search engine, to search MLA archives using user ID and password that will be issued at the time of subscription.
