A typical MLA Issue has 7 sections:

 
Cases. Notes on selected local cases. This section reports summaries of the latest Federal Court and Court of Appeal cases, and provides access to the full text of such cases via hyperlink to Malaysian Courts’ website. The MLA summaries set out the legal principles expounded in the reported cases; specific facts are generally left out.
 
Legislation. Survey of new local legislation. This section includes reports on important Federal Acts, Amendment Acts, Bills, PU(A)s, PU(B)s and Gazette Notifications.
 
Regulatory. Round up of news, circulars, guidelines and regulations from regulatory, statutory and government bodies. The editors of Malaysian Legal Alert monitor over 50 sources to gather relevant items/stories for this section.
 
News. News (legal and compliance) related to law and lawyers gathered from over 30 local and foreign sources. The MLA editors select stories based on news worthiness and legal content. The sources are clearly identified to assist readers to find the original or base article(s).
 
Events. Update on local and foreign events which deal with legal or regulatory issues. Details of events are published in this section almost four weeks in advance so that interested readers have sufficient time to register for their preferred events.
 
Books, Journals and Articles. Review of new law books, law journals and selected articles from local and foreign legal journals. The editors of Malaysian Legal Alert cover publications by all major legal publishers.
 
Products, Resources and Services. Introduces products, resources and services which professionals, particularly lawyers, would find useful.
